SOFIA folding chair by Carlo Bartoli for Bonaldo

One of the later designs from the long career of renowned Italian designer Carlo Bartoli, the Sofia folding chair was designed in 1989 for the manufacturer Bonaldo. Beyond its sculptural backrest and playful form, the chair features an innovative folding mechanism articulated around a central pivot concealed beneath the seat. Once fully extended, the chair’s legs snap into place, giving it remarkable sturdiness despite its elegant visual lightness.

In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Slight double scratch on the right side of the backrest (see picture).
