Designed in 1997 by the self-taught Californian designer Jeff Covey, the Model Six stool was originally self-produced by the designer and shipped flatpack in 6 components (hence the name) to be assembled by the customer. A few years after the initial production, the design was licensed for a five-year period to Herman Miller which started its own production and distribution. The units for sale here were manufactured by Jeff Covey; their original moulded plywood seats were professionally refinished in an off-white glossy alkyd enamel paint.
In good vintage condition, with thew wood grain and a few light scratches in the plywood showing under the new alkyd enamel finish.
