1990s TRAPEZOID desk lamp

Ask a child to draw a lamp on a piece of paper and there are good chances you will end up with a doodle resembling this lamp. Strongly reminiscent of the Trapèze lamp by André Desrosiers designed in 1985 for the defunct Montreal-based manufacturer Sverige, this lamp embodies the formal qualities of an archetypal desk lamp, stripped of all overzealous details. A round base, a cylindric mast and a trapezoid shade make for a simple and timeless design.
